Gold and silver cabinet.

I wish I would have taken a picture of the dining room set that this cabinet was created to match. It is the best replication I have created so far in my career. I am always asked to match something with something. Usually there is evidence as to how a manufactured piece was produced. Layers of paint can be seen under the pieces and scratches give clues. To be successful at matching decorative pieces you must understand color theory and the outcome of layering hues. You also must know when to say when.
If you need to paint a piece that was layed flat in manufacturing, such as a cabinet door, try your best to lay your door flat as well. Gravity makes a huge difference in decorative painting.
