Welcome baby!

I paint alot of baby nurseries. That means I work for many nervous, soon to be mommies. They want everything perefect and they want everything ready for the new arrival. My job is to make the room as inviting as possible and without any glitches. You don't mess with a pregnant woman. They can get feisty. In the end, I always get the better side of the girl. Full of happy emotions and ready for baby to come.

Coffered Ceiling.

If I could build a dream house it would definitely have coffered ceilings. I love them. The look of these ceilings can change so much because you can create so many different styles. Tone on tone, natural wood (like this one), high contrast, etc. In this photo, the natural wood against the red paint with gold and bronze glazes is easy on the eyes and low in contrast. But high in style.

Wall Art. Literally.

I have a handful of newly finished projects that I need to discuss, but after hanging out with one of my favorite designers yesterday I can't get this project out of my head. So much trust was placed in my hands to create this wall and it was a 'no turning back' experience. Yes, this is an entire wall treated as a canvas. It was done years ago but still means so much to me.

Kitchen insert with shelves.

I just finished painting walls for a kitchen remodel. A tone on tone gold was applied throughout the kitchen and this area of the room was my favorite. I love nooks and shelves because they give depth and interest to a room.

Homearama 2011

Red fauxed walls for a recreation room. Can't wait to see it once the walnut wood floors are installed. The deep floors and rich walls will look great against the white beadboard.

Zebra..again.

I do love painting for teenage gals. They love the change from cutesy little girls room to cool chick room. For this they are always very appreciative. Picking the right purple is important for the older girl. You don't want to go back to the pastel purple that they just begged to get rid of. This room has a deep purple and a light purple divided with a fancy hand painted zebra motif. I used the same colors to create the canvas painting that was hung above the bed.

Accentuating Paintings.

Red walls can be amazing if you pick the correct shade of red. This one works exceptionally well because it enhances the beautiful red tones found in the musical instrument located in the artwork. These walls have a very subtle colorwash in a deeper tone of red that gives the wall a wonderful tone on tone/suede look.

Animal prints are everywhere..

So why not put them on the wall! This zebra-like accent with colorwashed walls makes this office a huge conversation piece.
